Before Richard and Sharleen headed back home to Mass., we travelled to Savannah, Ga. for a little southern hospitality. A two day trip was just right to explore the waterfront shops, visit several of the 23 'squares' throughout the historic district, enjoy local dining experiences and have an opportunity to learn the history of Savannah's founding by touring with Savannah Dan. And yes, we did not pass up Leopold's famous ice cream.
We started our journey Tuesday 6:00 am and returned on Wednesday 9:00 pm. Total travel was approximately 720 miles with a one-way duration of just under 6 hours with rest stops and fueling. As the guys verbally attacked each other, the ladies chatted, snoozed and enjoyed iPhone and iPad technology. The weather could not have been better with temps in the low 80's and sunny. With the mutually agreed 'short' vacation of two days and wanting get the history of Savannah and the opportunity for photo ops, taking the Savannah Dan Tour was a good decision. We even made the local TV as a camera videoing crew captured a section of our tour with Dan.
