San Fransisco and Napa Valley (June 2015)
Trip - Day 1: Tampa to San Fran. Hotel, Fishermans Wharf, Pier 39 street performers, dinner, sea lion gathering drawing crowds and shops. Surprisingly chilly. Back in hotel at 10 pm our time. (++ Sea Lions)
Trip - Day 2: Foggy and overcast early walk for photos of Bridge, Bay swimmers. Next up Giardelli Square, Lombard Street, Cable Car Museum, hill upon hill upon hill, China Town and lunch at the Garden. Long walk back to rest for North Beach walk to dinner. (++ Cable Car and Lombard St)
Trip - Day 3: Coit Tower, breakfast, bus to Golden Gate, Walk the Bridge, Sausalito, get together Sid & Janet Daru, dinner at Spinnaker, Ferry from Sausalito to Wharf and back to hotel. (++ Walk the Golden Gate Bridge, dinner at Spinnaker's in Sausailto).
Trip - Shuttle to airport rental car, head north to Napa, stop off in Muir Woods (recall winding roads and no side rails), visit Petrified Forest near destination, arrive at hotel: quaint, clean, sparse and right in downtown. Walked downtown and visited museum, shops and grocery for cheese and crackers. Back at B and B for relaxing and wine/cheese/crackers on balcony. Dinner and beer tasting at 6:30. No TV. ... just me, as we prepare for touring tomorrow: Old Faithful (1 of 3 geysers in country), several wine tours and tasting, photos and more. Mom misses the little shit. (++ Calistoga museum,
Trip - Day 4: wake up and explore common showers, breakfast at the Inn, short drive to Old Faithful Geyser (one of only three 'scheduled' geysers in the world), travel to several wineries (with tastings) including a picnic lunch , checkout local casino, and return for relaxing and great outdoor dinner - Calistoga/San Fran gourmet pizza.
Trip - Day 5: Early wake up for a 2+ hour trip to retrun rental car and check in for flight home. Winding roads has Mom clinging to roof handle in car with eyes NEVER looking over the unguarded roadway.
